A couple of folks in the blogroll have posted their half-year-in-review or top-25 of new 2007 music. Since I don't have nearly the patience to offer up 25 of them, and music of what they've purchased isn't what I've purchased, this listing may actually do someone some good in finding something new. Then again, it might not. Optimism rules, so hope you like what you hear. As always, feel free to suggest something I might like; remember, I have a 137-mile each-way trip to work (yes, 137), so there's plenty of time for music on the interstate!
I'd say the list is about equally split between what I've discovered on blogs and recommendations from my homies at CD Connection. Rush and Dream Theater I'd have bought regardless. There's no particular order to this listing, so I cannot be accused of payola. Rock on! (or jazz on, metal on, ambient-trace on, etc.)
Dream Theater, Systematic Chaos - Forsaken
JJ Grey & Mofro, Country Ghetto - Country Ghetto
Madina Lake, From Them, Through Us, To You - Morning Sadness
Rush, Snakes & Arrows - Malignant Narcissism
Porcupine Tree, Fear of a Blank Planet - Fear of a Blank Planet
Fields, Everything Last Winter - Feathers
Funeral for a Friend, Tales Don't Tell Themselves - Out Of Reach
Bright Eyes, Cassadaga - Four Winds
Tishamingo, The Point - Chest Fever
Eric Gales, the Psychedelic Underground - Wake Up Call
