Joseph Arthur and his label Lonely Astronaut Records have unveiled Vagabond Skies, the third EP in the four-EP prelude to his September 16 full-length, Temporary People. Vagabond Skies is the most ethereal of the EP series thus far. Opening with the transcendental pop of "Slow Me Down" and ending with the gorgeously delicate “It's Too Late,” the album plays like an otherworldly suite with one song bleeding to the next. Among the songscapes is a haunting studio version of “She Paints Me Gold,” one of Joseph’s most requested and never-before-released songs.

Middle Class Rut (Zack Lopez - guitar/vox and Sean Stockham - drums/vox) are a two-piece hailing from Sacramento, CA whose visceral, garage-inflected wall of sound immediately brings to mind Jane’s Addiction, Death From Above 1979, My Bloody Valentine and Rage Against The Machine. The second half of 2008 will see Middle Class Rut touring steadily, including a national tour in July with Burning Brides.

The Brooklyn quartet known as Jupiter One is pure frenetic, blissful energy. The band’s self-titled debut, packed full of adventurous pop songs, positions this phenomenal band on the brink of stardom. The record, set to hit on August 26th via Cordless Recordings, offers up an electrifying, invigorating sound that recalls the pogo-party frenzy of the late-’70s/early-’80s underground club scene coupled with a contemporary guitar punch that has garnered the band comparisons to the Killers, Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party.

Le man Avec Les Lunettes (an Italian band with a French name singing in English-I think it translates to "the man with the glasses") has released a debut composing by songs that are bundled up in the pop spirit with influence of Belle & Sebastian, Blur, Beatles, and the Beach Boys. The band hails from northern Italy and plays a mellow, laidback, melancholy, but at the same time somewhat ironic, music, mixing twee pop, weird electronic backgound noises with some kind of warm jazzy feel. The first Italian band to ever be picked to perform at Sweden's Emmaboda festival, France, with over 50 Italian shows, Le Man Avec Les Lunettes are ready to play everywhere.
