London's The Hours will be making their first public performance at SXSW. Word has it that they're towing two drummers with them for the performance. The British band will debut tunes from their new full length, See The Light. This will also be the first album available for purchase in the US - available digitally at the end of April. The Hours • mp3:

I've always been a fan of the seductive vocals of Meredith DiMenna and Saint Bernadette and the Bridgeport, Connecticut rockers have a new six-song EP coming out on April 14th, Word To The Lourdes. Featuring Touch Sanders' wailing guitars and Dave Valle's propelling drums, the new release follows the success of one of my favorite EP's of 2008, I Wanna Tell You Something, which I practically wore the lasers off the CD from playing it so much. This is a great band; you owe it to yourself to give them a listen!Saint Bernadette • mp3:

Armed with a brand new treasure trove of peculiar pop and world-inspired trinkets, Seth Kaufman returns this April 21st with his second release for Park The Van Records. Following in the footsteps of 07’s Research –which coaxed critical comparisons to Motown, Caribbean music, and everything in between– Kauffman’s first bow under his new Floating Action moniker is an equally worldly affair, and easily the North Carolina exoticist’s most accomplished work to date. Once again Kauffman has performed and recorded virtually every note himself at his home studio, and – in an age when obsessive computer editing and the omnipresent autotune are sapping the humanity from even home recordings – once again his refreshingly organic approach to making music is receiving rave reviews.Floating Action • mp3:

A reader request for more following our recent mention of the new Alligators release Piggy & Cups, the excellent harmonies and precise arrangements are proving to be the hallmark of the band. Piggy & Cups is due for release on April 7th and if you like Radiohead, The Beach Boys and The Zombies-or even a combination of them all-you'll really like the music of Alligators.Alligators • mp3:

A lot of great artists have come out of Montreal; out of this vibrant music scene comes Beast, a new collaboration between Jean-Phi Goncalves, leader of his own cutting edge electro band Plaster and also an established platinum level producer (Ariane Moffat, Pierre Lapointe, Daniel Bélanger, Lauryn Hill), and acclaimed singer Betty Bonifassi (DJ Champion, The Triplets of Belleville soundtrack). Featuring a vibe that inhabits a place where the cinematic grandeur of Portishead meets the immediacy of Rage Against the Machine. Compelling, unique and fresh, the music of Beast is something that absolutely deserves a place in any music collection. Excellent!Beast • mp3:

Hailing from Northampton, UK, My First Tooth is the totally encapsulating, totally spine-tingling indie-folk creation of singer-songwriter Ross Witt and violinist Sophie Galpin. Taking influence from modern indie heroes such as Eels, Okkervil River and Neutral Milk Hotel, My First Tooth have crafted ambitious and beautiful songs and display all their subtle heartbroken soul and unwittingly touching melody throughout the EP My First Tooth and the Rubies to be released on March 30th.My First Tooth • mp3:
