Portland's Blake Miller has completed and released Burn Tape, the first installment of frequent cassette/digital (ltd CD) releases via Exit Stencil Recordings. In the two years since his debut release Together with Cats, Miller has continued to record songs at a frightening pace---primarily alone and in his bedroom---all the while honing a more distinctive and personal style that is becoming all the more
difficult to compare to other musicians. His unique falsetto, multi-tracked vocals, use of "found sounds" and unique instrumentation surprise the listener with the direction and structure that the songs take that make him an anomaly in an indie world that is all too often predictable.

Nine Inch Nails, Jane's Addiction and Street Sweeper are the principles in the 2009 NinJa Tour. You can get a free download of exclusive tracks for an email address-I've downloaded from them several times and they don't spam, so feel safe to do it-and a couple tracks, Whores by Jane's Addiction and Non-Entity by NIN really stand out. Just wondering: would it be the NinJass tour if all three band names underwent an acronym-ectomy instead of just the two? Anyway, you can get the music here.

May 12th release is the release date of Wooden Birds' Magnolia. Wooden Birds frontman and American Analog Set alum Andrew Kenny has shared Sugar a simple, acoustic strummer, and the perfect introduction to Magnolia, an album rounded out by the expert contributions of Ola Podrida songwriter David Wingo, Lymbic System drummer Michael Bell, co-producer Chris Michaels and frequent AmAnSet contributor Leslie Sisson. The band also has a month-long set of tour dates scheduled, beginning April 10th at New York's Mercury Lounge.

The UK's Seeland was formed in the winter of 2004/05. They have previously released two singles for Stereolab's Duophonic imprint, but have spent the past few years mastering their newest album of contemporary psychedelia, Tomorrow Today. Seeland comes amid the fallout from Birmingham, UK's 'Retro Futurist Electronic scene'- a group of musicians and artists inspired by space age pop, the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Joe Meek and eccentric 60's library music. An extremely addictive sound.
