Music From Friends, Old and New
Continuing to get caught up with the immense...okay, considerable...okay, bunch of music on the desk, I thought I'd start by sharing another track from the terrific recent self-titled release from Audrye Sessions. If there's any justice in the musical world, this band and this EP will get the recognition and sales it so richly deserves. It's one of those rare releases where you just let it play and never worry about having to skip over a bad track. It's just terrific. I know I use "highly recommended" to the extreme, but...damn, highly recommended.

Antiqcool is the work of Pete Smith, and precision guitars and perfectly-synchronized harmonies are trademarks of his highly addictive music. Pete sent us several pre-release tracks from his next CD, which he hopes to release sometime later this year. His music is some of the most popular and frequently-played at
GarageBand.com, which comes as no surprise. If you have an ear for quality in your musical desires, you'll have an ear for Antiqcool. We'll keep you posted as the release date draws near.

Joe Simpson has come up with a unique and cool project called Almost There. Joe is a visual artist that has worked in collaboration with twelve bands and solo artists to create a specific painting to go with a selected song. The paintings are each a scene from a character's journey as he leaves to find redemption on the open road. And dig this: the exhibition was in display at the Candid Arts Trust in London, and headphones were right beside each work of art, allowing the viewer to similtaneously experience the visual and the audio aspects of each work. Other bands involved included The Miserable Rich, Nizlopi, Jose Vanders and The Voluntary Butler Scheme. A terrific way of combining two of the most popular methods people can express themselves, and Joe's talents in this project are obvious. The above painting and Matt Cameron track are a sample of this art for the senses; highly recommended.

...and we'd like to share the video trailer of this great project. Enjoy!
