Thunder Power is a six-piece Omaha, Nebraska, indie pop band featuring the infectious vocals of Kacynna Tompsett and excellent background musicians that compliment her perfectly. The band's first release, Love Yourself, was an excellent album featuring one of our favorite songs on 2008, Casanova. San Francisco's Dubious Ranger had shared a rockous track that is a tribute to a comic strip. The Man From Circumstances was inspired by the strip Achewood. The strip is hilariously brilliant and the track is nothing short of a musical riot. DR's new album, Uneasy Truce at the Watering Hole, is terrific and will instantly snap anyone out of any funk they may be in.• • • •

Borders marks the debut full-length from the band behind this February's Green Go Remix Project Vol. 1 which received considerable critical accolades. Their music can best be described as tantalizing electronic pop, a creative mesh of disco drums, elctric synths and other assorted, but effective, noises.• • • •
We've heard good music from I Am The Heat previously, and the Brooklyn power-poppers are at it again. Their recent release, the appropriately-named Sequels, continues the band's knack of 60's-sounding, energy-filled music with catchy lyrics that gets more fun with every listen. Their tunes also feature some of the best drumming you'll hear. Summer's coming; be ready for I Am The Heat!
