The second installment of The New Up's society-dissecting three-part, Better Off, is due for release on August 18th. As with their previous release, Broken Machine, five-piece The New Up continues to feature the awesome vocals of ES Pitcher along with the power whirling guitars you've come to expect from the band and their sound seems even more psychedelic than on previous releases. Broken Machine received national recognition where it landed on the CMJ Top 200 and I wouldn't be surprised if Better Off followed suit. This is one of San Francisco's best bands, and hopefully they continue to receive the nationwide recognition they deserve. Highly recommended. The New Up: Website • MySpace • Better Off available August 18th
