Just 25 years old but making music for over six years, Joshua James continues to impress the fact he's as much a poet as a musician. His new album, Build Me This, is receiving critical praise for its combination of southern rock, folk harmonies and a vocal style that can only be described as dark and intimate yet beautiful. If you want a perfect example of what a fantastic brand of music he's capable of, you only need to hear the song Coal War off the album and you'll begin to realize Joshua's music is just not another mash of work rushed to fulfill a contract. His music is cinematic, lush, heartfelt, emotional, electric and alive. If this alum gets the recognition it deserves, it should be one of the top releases of the year.
